    I have a 65 sportvan, 3speed 230 motor. Both under 3K miles. Rear gears are 3.36? Tires are 205/70/14

    Plugs look good. HEI
    I get 12-13mpg.

Wiki-van is 230 inline, HEI, rochestor mono jet, t10 4 speed, 2.56 rear gears, 295/50r15, it gets about 15 mpg, but I drive fast everywhere, 70 mph on the freeway.  Would probably get better if I slowed down but I don't want to.

Hella Sunshine is a 305HO, holley 390cfm 4 bbl, HEI, th350, 3.36 gears, 325/50r15, about 11-12 mpg, but again I cruise in the fast lane at 65-70.  Its worth paying a little extra ga$ to haul ass.  Puttin along in the slow lane saves gas, but its no fun

If I care about fuel economy I'll drive my 94 civic. These vans get really crappy fuel economy because you are pushing a flat windowed brick through the air. Its hard to imagine a worse shape for aerodynamics

    68/108, 350 4bbl 3 speed manual, 4:11.

Can get 15mpg if I keep it under 90mph.

Only time I kept track was on the trip to the nats last year, at 60mph I got 17-ish mpg and a lot of pissed off people behind me.

On the way back I said screw it and went with the flow of traffic and got 14-ish.

just did my fuel mileage today, and found that i'm getting a little over 17. that's about half freeway and half city. kept it under 60mph.
    69 chevy 230cid 3 speed and 373 rear.
but, I also found that my gas pedal is worn out at the stem on the floor, and is only allowing my to get about 60% throttle. so, the carb isn't wasting a lot of fuel either. i'm hoping to get better once I put my HEI in.

350/700r4/4:11 rato on 295/50/15s ( 26.5" tall)= 13.5 mpg total weight 3640lbs That's an average mixing some Highway(70+ mph) and secondary roads. Happy place seems to be around 60 mph/2100 rpm the way I have the engine thrown together.

just took it to my first van in, and got just under 17mpg. but, it was a lot of big hills, and lots of crazy crosswinds fighting me the whole time. still not too bad.

    Great picture Donn!
While waiting for my new windshield rubber I went for a cruise without the windshield...I didn't go far enough to check my mileage but I'm guessing it HAD to be than the average 12-14 mpg! A bit breezier also!

    '69, 90" window
    250 1-barrel, HEI // 200R4 // 3.06 // 195/75R14 = About 16.5MPG last I really checked.

I recently ( finally ) got my Lock-up hooked up, so it may have improved 1-2MPG.
