These Chinese Skip White HEI's don't seem to have a very good track record from the postings I've read. I think your better off with a used GM one from a junkyard that you can get parts for at most any auto part stores.

I've bought two of the HEI's for inline 6 cylinders off ebay.  They worked wonderfully.  One is still installed in my wikivan that I drive everyday.  Its been there for a few years so far with no problems.  Excellent upgrade from the crappy points stuff.

Skip white is a good seller and stands behind his stuff.  I've bought a bunch of stuff from him, so I can personally attest he is a good guy to deal with.  If you got a bad HEI, send it back and he'll replace it no problems.

The only issue with the large cap HEI is that they take up alot of room in the doghouse.  It fits, but it is tight to the wall in a 1st gen doghouse.  You will also need different plug wires, so budget for new wires, and you will need to do a little re-wiring for the HEI to eliminate the points style resistor wire in the stock van's wiring.

Assuming you could even find a chevy inline six at a junkyard, chances are the used HEI would probably cost you almost as much as buying a new one off ebay.

I got one from him a few years ago and had to replace the pick-up
coil to get it to work, was cheaper and faster to just fix it.

mine has a new tune and points now, but it would be nice not to have to worry about ignition parts in the future. when using this dizzy, do they recommend that you change to a different plug to compensate for the hotter coil?

I picked mine up from KMJ Performance a while ago and the GMC has been running really well with it.

I purchased one for the 64. I bought a used one from a nova for the old 66 GMC. I believe this one is cheaper. Don't forget to buy new plug wires, as the old points style wires will not work.

I decided to return mine and buy a re-man of an OEM. I didn't realist that the dizzy was all Chinese parts, and couldn't be repaired local parts stores. I also read a post where the dizzy was broken down completely, it was amazing to see how cheaply these are thrown together. JM2C
