2014 NE Gathering of Earlys VINTAGE & CUSTOM VAN SHOW

I've secured the site for the ;

Northeast Gathering of Earlys VINTAGE & CUSTOM VAN SHOW

Date: Saturday July 19th..rain date July 20th

Location: 560 Monmouth Rd. (Rt 537) Millstone Twp. ,NJ
(same place as last year)

Last year we had +/- 30 vans show up and a lot of decent prizes and trophies.
This year we are opening the event and will have awards for newer later vans.
Hence the new show name " VINTAGE & CUSTOM VAN SHOW "
Last year we had a number of later model vanners that made the show a lot more fun.
I'd like to see the lot get filled with 80 or more vans and vanups.

So, mark your calendars...set your schedules..it's gonna be a good one!
I'll be making registration forms and providing more info as time goes on.

Those of you that are close I will be looking for volunteers/suggestions and maybe a committee to help plan the event.

Rain date of 20 July is the last day of Nats in New York

This date as pointed out in your post on vannin.com Sunday is unfortunately the same weekend as the Nationals, a few hours north. A number of the vanners who went to the gathering last year will likely be going to the Nationals. I would suggest that you change the date for the benefit of your event and the Nationals.

Yes change your date for sure, Nat's being more local to you this year will hurt your turn out

Do to responses from the crew CONCERNING DATE CONFLICTS WITH THE nATS, it has been decided that the
NEW DATE is JULY 12th
RAIN DATE: JULY 13th
This will give guys a warm-up or dry run and set a gathering before the nats.
For planning and to discuss convoys , where to meet , what to bring, etc.

Now you're talkin' ! You might get some of the people heading to the Nationals early now. Like Gman,. we all want to see the van events grow in all regions. So changing a date from one week to another can have a huge impact.

Hi Doug received the 50 years of earlys tin yesterday they could not have turned out any better . they look great. is there any more aval ???

Don't want to hijack this thread Dix, there will be 10 available at the CofC and I will decide how many more to have done after that.
I'm going to see if Casimier is going to be doing something at this event here that
he could use some signs for .

I'm just up north in Union Co. and plan to attend, you should get a great stop in spectator crowd with people going to and from Six Flags Great Adventure right down the road on a summer Saturday afternoon?

It's gonna be a bigger and better show than last year.

The only problem with Great Adventure is the TRAFFIC.

I suggest you come early...Rt 537, the same road into Great Adventure is the road the event is on...last year it was bumper to bumper at 9 AM...

Don't want any of the vintage vans to get over heated.

The Northeast Gathering of Earlys' that was scheduled for July 12th has been cancelled.



With luck may the event be rescheduled for next year.
