I know many of you drive your vans in the snow threw the winter. And I wonder how you do it??? Just took my 66 to my buddy's to do some welding on the floor and I got stuck in my drive way on only a 1" of snow. My driveway has a smell incline on the end and it was everything just to get out. We won't talk out my first try to get out and when i BACKED UP i WHEN OFF THE DRIVE AND WAS REALLY STUCK

Re: snow and early's
eight bags of sand behind the rear tires, makes for a pretty good snow plow,
anything less is futile.

I have not driven in the snow in years, in the winter dry roads only. When I did lots of rear weight and real snow tires, the narrower the better.

I didn't really want to drive it today, but not owning a welder and this is the next step for my interior I had to. For the most part I should have to drive in much snow, but want to move forward this winter and have alot done for Baker's this year

When I lived in Chi. I kept a 55 gallon drum in my van with rock salt in it. If the weight wasnt enough, I used the salt for traction. Now that Im older and smarter, I would use kitty litter.

When I was in HS I put 2 concrete cesspool covers(unused) and a half a railroad tie in the back. Used to be able to punch holes thru those centerline snowpiles in town about 3 foot high.

Re: snow and early's
Somewhat off topic here, talking about the concrete, I remember my dad had two L60's filled with concrete and eye bolts in them, in the winter he would put them in the back of his F150 for weight, those were the good ole days, now the concrete tires, the F150 and my dad are all gone.
BUT, back in my glory days I drove my econo van to school every day, the winter of 77-78 was a bad one here, just being a teenager, having no fear, and a little driving savy somehow I managed to get where I wanted to go. (it did have a bed and a full interior in it for weight)
