Help With Tranny Mount Empty Help With Tranny Mount

Post by Mad Jack Sun Dec 01, 2013 1:50 pm

I have a '64 with a 170 motor and 3 speed tranny, but the tranny mount is very different to the replacement ones I'm finding listed for it. It appears to be factory because the welds on the chassis mount are identical to the other welds, and there are no bolts holes on the cross member for any other type of mount.

Does anyone have any idea where I would get a new tranny mount of this type or what it's from? This one is pretty shot and I don't really want to put it back in when I'm replacing everything else.

    Thanks for any help Smile

I have a 65' 170 3 speed and my shop manual shows the one you have so it must be factory.  I wonder what I have then.  Is this what you keep finding?

I'M not a ford guy but that sure looks the same as a dodge mount, on a dodge the steel sleve would stay and you remove the rubber and replace that.

that rubber bushing on a dodge would have a steel sleve on the inside of the bushing as seen in my photo, let me know if you want to try one of these.

Yes, the type of mount I keep finding is for that style of gearbox. But not my kind, maybe I'll look for later years and see what comes up.

What year/model is the dodge mount from? I'll look at that too Smile
