If,,,,,,,,,,the picture posting  starts working here again,,,,,,you would resize your pictures to 640 to make them show completely on the forum,,,,,,,and you most likely have a 230 cu in engine  if it has not been changed to a 250 or 292,,,,,,,,you don't want another 50 year old wiring harness,,,,,,,you want to buy or build a bigger better one to run all the modern stuff you will put in the van,,,,,,,

Nice project. But it must be a real slug on the road with just a 6 banger.

Some history: I got this ridiculous thing for $100 in 1993 from the orig owner. I drove it DAILY till 2000 or 2001. The Can-Am paint job and functional wing were done in 1996. In 2001, the Powerglide started slipping too much, so I put it up in a boat storage place for $25/month.

Years went by. All my friends said "why the hell do you still pay to store that monstrosity?" The owner of the boat place would call every six months or so and threaten to scrap it, but he still cashed the checks.

In 2007 I finally bought a house with a garage and some space. I had El Home flatbeded here. These days, I have two kids 7 and 5, and they use it as a clubhouse.

The bug to get it back on the road has bit and bit hard. I started by looking around the web for info on motor swaps and disc brakes. That led me here, where I find rumors that there were only SIX of these made? I found photos of a blue one on photo bucket, and there's the brown one on this post, and also you guys mention some guy on here who also has one. With mine, that makes 4 existent examples of the breed. I gotta get in touch with you guys - I have a big folder with brochures, letters from the company, the original window sticker, and other stuff.

As for El Home itself, it was marginal but drivable when parked. Motor is ok, trans needs replaced, some wiring, entire brake system is shot but I want discs anyway. Maybe 75% of the "house" stuff worked then - toilet, fridge, shower, etc. Much will need cleaned up and gone through, but the thing survived surprisingly well during it's hibernation.

At any rate, we have much to discuss!
