Re: Looking for Title
I am just saying that IF DMV does check out your van, they will find the vans REAL VIN number on the crossmember,,,,,then they could say thanks for bringing it in and they will give it back to the person who reported it missing,,,,,,or now you have to pay the $500 parking tickets on it,,,,or they haul you away for trying to use a fake title on it,,,,,,,,just get the number off the crossmember,,,,,,,add G125 in front of that number if it is a panel,,,,,,,G126 if it is a SportVan, and that is the REAL VIN of that van,,,,,,have them check the number,,,,,,,see if it matches any paperwork you have,,,,,,,,,I am just letting you know what could happen,,,,,,,,

Re: Looking for Title
Yep, changing the serial number from the original to another one (tag and title) is a federal beef. They do NOT look at such things lightly.
Of course, they are all on furlough right now...

Re: Looking for Title
You have to jump on theses deals when you see them remember there is a lot of people looking for 1ST Gen Chevys lately.!!!!!!!!! I am from Rochester NY as long as it isn't stolen or no leans you can apply for a new title or at worst case they can give you a salvage or rebuilt title.. I have got a couple of titles that way back home from cars we pulled out of the junk yard or the PO that did not have one or lost it.............
