If not too late make sure you go through Oatman and stop awhile. It's old west you'll not find any where else.

Re: Going to LA via Route 66
Easiest way to get through it, IS to understand that this is a melting pot and most people drive as if they were the only person around. Truck drivers and cars both, doing stupid turns and could care less that they are stopping the traffic with the ass hanging out, the last guy running a red light and saying he started on yellow, completely messing up the traffic going the other way, turn signal on AS he goes through your fender,, doggy dog, its all about me and I was texting anyways,,,, Dont let it bother you, be yourself and polite and let it go or you will have a heart attack,,, There are real people out there, but mostly you will see the ones who are all about themselves..
When I went to drivers Ed in high school, we were taught to hug the curb when you make a turn so as to not hinder the traffic trying to get past you,, here the norm is that person in a Prius with power steering gets mad at you because they wanted two lanes to make the turn,, its nutz,, but the way it is....

Between the hours of 5:30 AM and 10:30 PM they are holding auditions for the 4th version.
However, rather than wreck prop cars, they are using typical commuter cars, and since permits are expensive red tape, they just have open casting out on the roads...
Win the audition or get outta the way!

coming through ash fork in a few hours

You can set up meets along the way or at least keep contact info in case of a problem.
There is a flatbed Ford in Winslow, and the section from Seligman to Kingman is nice. If you go along that part, you gotta stop in Hackberry.
You can get a passport and have it stamped as you go...

Got to meet T and B in Ash Fork. Great couple and daughter!
The van looks very nice and they are having a blast, aside from some mechanical stuff they've been able to handle.
