Re: Millwright71's 66 Chevy panel
Did you make the harness or did you purchase? If so how much and were did you get it. I need to start rewiring mine also. It seems like alot going on how is it confusing or not to bad? I was just going to start mine 1 wire at a time try and break it up a bit starting with the ignition.

Re: Millwright71's 66 Chevy panel
I bought a 20 circuit harness from Ebay. If I had it to do over again, I would buy one from speedway motors, part number 91064027. I have no affiliation to this part, just found a detailed video on youtube of a guy installing one in a Chevy truck. This one is a bit confusing, and it doesn't have a detailed instruction book. That being said, if you lay it out by where the wires go, and take it one or two circuits at a time, not bad at all. I am planning to make the engine wiring connections separate from the van.

I am not sure how to link youtube videos on here, but it is under C10 universal harness installation. It has at leas 25 parts to the series, and is very detailed. Thanks for the compliments guys

No problem! I figure once they get to that one, they can see the rest of his series...

Progress
Tom and I worked on the van last night, after a few wires temporarily hooked up, fuel line fittings getting tightened, along with the ignition wire at the starter, she fired up! Still got quite a little work to do on finalizing the wiring, but very excited for sure!

She is running a little fast in the video, but figured out that I had removed the charcoal canister purge solenoid on the intake, and forgot to plug the hole! She runs smoother and slower now.

Re: Millwright71's 66 Chevy panel
Tom (Savage) and I were both wound up tighter than a swiss watch, nervous about that first crank of the key. Once it fired up, I had to take a video of him starting it up. We are both extremely happy with it. There is still quite a bit of work to go, but at least we know it runs! I cannot thank him enough for all his help, we have a blast for sure..

Re: Millwright71's 66 Chevy panel
Getting a few more things crossed off the list. Building an instrument cluster, planning to wire it up using a couple weatherpack connectors for ease of removal later
Got the LED projector beam reverse lights and license plate light working. Gonna install the original style cover over that bright license light for sure.
Air filter and overflow bottle installed as well, made a plate to go to the front of the doghouse, props to M1Dadio for the idea! Makes a nice location to mount the fan and Torque Converter Clutch relays.

I'm loving the nice clean look of that instrument cluster! It's coming along quickly and efficiently!

Where did you find LED bulbs/ part numbers that actually fit factory sockets?

Re: Millwright71's 66 Chevy panel
These are aftermarket lights completely. I welded the original reverse light holes up, then drilled for these to fit. They are called eagle eyes on eBay, very bright, throws at least 10 feet of light after dark. Very nice quality, and easy to install.

Re: Millwright71's 66 Chevy panel
Rust bullet is self levelling, I just brushed it on. A little tip though, use everything in the can at once, or take out just what you need and leave it sealed up. I poked holes in the lid, then sealed them shut with pole barn screws, the type with a rubber gasket on them. Wear rubber gloves, and old clothes, whatever that gets on, has to be worn off. It is good stuff. It likes a bit of rust to take ahold of, painted my 57 Chevy frame with it in '09, still looks great.

Re: Millwright71's 66 Chevy panel
I cant wait to give this a shot. Im so close to getting it back on the axles I cant wait. I have cleaned the inside and underside very well I will probably sand with 100 grit on old paint first then. Man its a lot of work aint it...

Re: Millwright71's 66 Chevy panel
The electrical elephant is almost eaten! Got three more wires to hook up on the cruise control, then final routing and covering up the looms. I cannot wait to put a big, fat, done stamp on the electrical, and get back to finishing the bodywork.

Progress
Got her running really well, no service engine codes present! She moved out of the shop under her own power for the first time since late last fall!
Got the wiring harness organized and the computer mounted behind the driver's seat
The new gauge cluster in the dash, wired it up with a couple weatherpack connectors for easy removal later.
Moving on with bodywork on the doghouse and lid, prepping for primer. Hoping to do the lizard skin ceramic insulation on it soon.
