I know they didn't make a early, but know they were around in the 70's. Just don't see them, never seen one at the Nat's or any car show. Are they rare???

Re: Plymouth vans
My Scoutmaster had one in green in the early '80s and into the '90s. It could hold a scout troop and a weekend worth of gear. It rode quite well, also.
It did have a single rear door.

Vanish recommended Fotki to me a couple of years ago & I tried it & have been using it ever since. It is pretty easy to use.dix wrote:Handivan i couldn't get that same photo to post.?? guess it's me.

Re: Plymouth vans
Here's what little I know.
Plymouth was the low-priced line, sort of like Chevy is to Olds, Buick, Pontiac and Caddy for GM back then.
So the comment of being low end compared to Dodge is correct.
However, since ALL the Plymouths were (to my knowledge) Wagons not Vans, they had more features and trim than the base Dodge Tradesman Vans. I think that they were mostly if not all the long wheelbase too. The doors could be either way.
Features would have been the same as what was available in mid to high range Dodge Sportsman Vans. Probably all V8 auto, although there may have been a few /6.

Re: Plymouth vans
I had a 1978 Plymouth van. I purchased it new from the local Plymouth dealership that I had worked for when I was in high school. I also purchased a 1973 Dodge van from them it '73. They were able to work with another Dodge dealership to get the van for me
The '78 van was a real lemon. Nothing but problems from day one. I didn't buy another Chrysler product until 1989 when I got a Dodge Dakota. At one point I had a '66 Dodge A100, '73 Dodge Sportsman van and the '78 Plymouth Van. After that I started getting Ford vans, then Chevrolets
I still have my '66 A100 that was always my favorite.
