Door Emblems
I need "Dodge" emblems for both A100 front doors. In my copy of the 1968 Sales Brochure, the photos show a Chrysler "Star" emblem imediately behind the lower door hinge. Did this actually make it into production models? If so, I also need 2 of them.
Whose got them?

Not on Driver Door?

Are you saying the Penstar was NOT on the driver's door of the pickup OR that they were only on the passenger "Wagon" or "Vision Van"?

Re: Door Emblems
when diamler took over they stoped the penstar now diamler is gone the penstas is back. 1962 was the 1st year of the penstar, new production in 1963 forgot to install them so they sent them to the dealers to install. Some of the dealers refused to call a recent sold car and tell them the manufactor forgot to install something so some 63's did not have them. They were discontinued in the early 70's. A lot of people complained cuz they were only on 1 side complaining that the manufactor screwed up and they wanted the 2nd star, and the dealer installed those so some cars had 2. the penstar was used so all dodge, plymouth.chryslers could be recognized world wide no matter what languagea person spoke. hows that for a breif history lesson...

At my age, I've forgotten so many usless details that I'm glad to have some new ones to refill the empty spaces between my eyglasses, my hearing aids, my false teeth and my toupe.

Re: Door Emblems
Read my lips......."p e n t a s t a r" is the correct term for the Chrysler symbol. As stated.....ONLY on the passenger side.

Re: Door Emblems
Penta makes sense. I wondered how a star from Pensylvsnia or from the Parker Pen company had anything to do with Chrysler. Penta as in five is perfectly logical. Thanks.

Plymouth Neon pentastar
This pentastar came off of a Plymouth Neon. It's the same size as the original. Has ridges on the faces. I stuck it on the driver's side with 3M double sided tape. Original is still on the passenger side.

Re: Door Emblems
from sometime in the eary eighties they changed the design slightly and were all plastic. the version before were made of a pot metal type material and had a pin on the back for mounting purposes. thats the easy way to tell the two versions apart. walking by the untrained eye would have to get down and look close to see the difference. the early ones are harder to get now but lots out there. i have a couple spares but "NOT FOR SALE" . you just never know when another pentastar project will show up in the driveway... or some clown prys it off the door...........
