AT/MT fuel systems Empty AT/MT fuel systems

hello all. im just wondering here,
what are the differences in a carb that is designed for automatic and one that is for manual trans?
if one gets a carb that is "for automatic" and puts it on a vehicle with the manual trans, what is the down side of this?
and also viceversa, if one gets a carb for a car with stick trans and puts it on an automatic?
also, if the carb is for a 200 cid engine and one uses it on a 144 cid motor, or a 170? is it bad performance?
less mpg? more things to worry in the long run?

    just a thought

The automatic carb would have more vacuum lines and a different linkage to allow for the trans vacuum lines or kick down cables to be mounted to it. They would be set up with a different float level to allow the engine to not die at idle when you shifted into drive or reverse. And you might find that they would be set up for an automatic choke also. But if I had to guess, you might not notice much of a difference if you put an automatic one on a stick shift van.........
