Looks Great ! I don't know about you, but after pulling those shifter rods out of a couple vans I truly believe they hang them in the air and build the van around them.

Nice work Joe! Now tell the truth, how many times have you already reached for the old shifter that's not there! I do that all the time with the clutch pedal when I get in my automatic car after driving the stick!

Re: Joe Van's 1966 GMC Handivan
HAha yea no kidding. I still keep trying to use the power window switch in my 89 ford f150. Then I chuckle to myself and grab the hand crank and roll it down..lol. Great job on that shifter cable Joe. That shifter looks right at home in there.

Re: Joe Van's 1966 GMC Handivan
...LOL.!!!..Funny you said that I did a Dumb thing Saturday night at the car show...I have been playing with my shifter on the lid 1st,,2nd,,3rd,,..As I drive before I installed the cable and when I got to the Car Show I put the Hurst one in park and left the colunm one in drive lucky it was not on a big hill or I would have had to chase the van across the parking lot.. ..I said to myself I better order the cable and get it done before something happens..!!!..Vantasia wrote:Nice work Joe! Re: Joe Van's 1966 GMC Handivan
Just read this thread from front to back, WOW! I think this will certainly be a major influence on the direction we go on our '66 Sportvan. I'm so jacked to get started now!

Re: Joe Van's 1966 GMC Handivan
Drove to the shop today to tack weld the tips so they would not move during the trip to the exhaust shop..!!!...The toughest part of the hole job was getting all 8 pipes too line up straight still have a little tweaking to do before the final welding and painting..!!!.. My Vision after I install the 3 inch over stock height springs up front I will be saving for them next..!!!.. ..
