Here's a few more pics of the really nice Econo van with the vista cruiser roof MB posted. If I remember right the owner is the one in straw hat.

Re: todays random image (part #4)
Magic Bus, I'm right there with you. I think it's neat to see what some people come up with that's not your everyday stuff. That's where new ideas can come from. I absolutely love the vista cruiser roof. I've seen it on a 1st Gen Chevy as well and when it's done right, it looks great! I also like the grill work in the front. I would have left the headlights where they were (my taste) and just put fog lights down low behind the grill but that's what I mean about seeing different ideas. It can generate other ideas and I say "to each his own". If someone does this nice of a job restoring one of these beauties then he/she should be able to spend the money and get it the way he/she wants it. In my humble opinion, of course.

Oh, how did I miss that one! I'm not drinking that Kool-Aid but hey, it looks like a nice solid base for someone to start with!

Re: todays random image (part #4)
if you heard about the Mountain Fire near Idyllwild, it's just on the other side of the mountain from us... this picture was taken a couple of days ago before it "exploded" over night into what it is now... after buring 42 square miles, it is now 25% contained and so far they have kept the fire out of Idyllwild...

Chebby,
I live in Hemet(I know ewww!) and have many friends in Idyllwild and the Anza area. Many of my friends are also fire fighters and they told me this is the most gnarliest fire they have been on. Lets hope they get it under control soon... I'm tired of ashes all over my van!!!

Re: todays random image (part #4)
A little help from mother nature like a huge rain storm couldn't hurt. We'll keep you guys and especially the firemen in our prayers that this comes to an end soon.

update.... after being 49% contained, it rained buckets here! Good news for the firefighters... AND residents of Idyllwild and Fern Valley are returning home! hoping the worst is over and soon it will just be a bad memory and a story to tell others years from now (just had to share)

They do look peculiar, apparently it was a factory option, called a "loading gate" I believe.
