Here's some pics of the Holley 390 installed on the Offy Intake, and rotated 90 degrees. I think I bought the 90 degree adapter from Clifford Performance, but I haven't confirmed it yet.

Also, I had to cut a little of the carb. linkage to keep it from hitting the doghouse, even with the drop of the engine mount.

fabricating the motor mount bracket is as simple as drilling 6 holes in a peice of plate steel. 3 to bolt to motor, and 3 to bolt to motor mount. you can lower the motor 2" buy using spacers between frame and crossmember.

Scott, that is a nice looking setup, and I'll bet it runs great too... it should be noted for anyone considering a 4 barrel holley that the 1st and 2nd gen doghouses are different. The 2nd gen doghouse like scott has is wider so the carb fits in there. I think you would have more issues trying to fit it into a 1st gen doghouse because the walls of the 1st gen DH basically go straight down and do not 'bump' out under the seat like the 2nd gen does.

    1) I understand the doghouse is wider in the 2nd, but is it wider up where the carb would be? The pics I see looks like the sides widen out half way down.

    2) Looking back in the thread, there are some pics of the actual van tranny's with the rear mount moulded into the case to hang from......I'm trying to envision how it looked. (Mine already came mod'd with a Turbo350.) It looks to me that if the hanging "eye' is parallel to the ground, that the c/l of the crankshaft and tranny output shaft are angled down significantly.

    Am I envisioning this right?
