This setup uses hydraulic fluid pressure instead of vacuum.
I'm not sure if a power steering pump could be squeezed in to provide fluid, but you never know. The Slant 6 i bought to install came from a barracuda and included a PS pump (that i don't need). I had to remove the pump so the alternator could bolt in. However, if I could weld and had the $$, I think it would be neat to rig something up and put the alternator above the PS pump and use the brake system. V8 owners might have the room to add a pump? don't know. Like I said, a "wild" idea.

Correct. I meant adding a PS pump off the drive belts somewhere. I think adding a PS pump on a van with a V8 would be easier than the slant6.
The only place to put accessories on a slant6 is on the driver side, and that spot is taken up by the Alternator.

That's pretty rad man. I know there were lots of manufacturers that ran hydroboosters in vehicles all the way up to and through the eighties (I stopped caring about cars made after 1980 lol) but yeah I'm sure there are a good variety of boosters you could adapt to your scenario without toooooo much work. And you're right, the steering pump would be the kicker.

I know a guy here running that setup in a HEMI powered Roadrunner, and he loves it. Brakes that actually work better than factory.
