Hi, New member here
Hi, Im new here. I just picked up a 1966 G10 thats been in my family since 1974. It was my first vehicle in 1986 and got passed down to 2 of my 3 brothers who rode it hard and put it away wet. Its been sitting in Prescott Az til last week when I trailered it out to SoCal to start the restoration.

Re: Hi, New member here
Will a 250 inline from a 1977 Nova work as a replacement engine. The engine in the van needs to be rebuilt and has a bad crank and harmonic balancer. I found a guy who will sell me the motor out of his Nova from air cleaner to oilpan for $400. What if anything might have changed in those 11 yrs?

Re: Hi, New member here
If the Nova is an automatic, you will need to put a pilot bushing in the end of the crankshaft if you have a 3 speed,,,,,,and there is a lot of engine neering going on right now,,,,,

Hey Donivan, Where are you in San Diego? I grew up in Mira Mesa on Hydra lane, thats where my van experience started in 1986. Thanks for the links to Scotts van its getting me more motivated. Im healing from a big get off on a dirt bike, broke my femur and arm so I cant do much work yet but your projects are inspiring!

Thats cool! It looks like he is on the west side of Camino Ruiz. I grew up a couple blocks down on the east side. When is the next show/gathering? It would be great to meet you guys and see your vans. Mine wont be on the road for a while but I could drive my truck out there.

Re: Hi, New member here
Sad news. I was restoring our 66 for my Dad so he could drive it in the Vintage vehicle parade in Prescott Az. He bought it in 1974 and customized it. It became our family van/ camper/ surf mobile. Unfortunately My Dad Allan Eddolls passed away last Friday from a sudden heart attack while on a work trip. He was 71 and in great health, working circles around his younger co workers. Its been a devastating week! I plan to continue the restoration and along with my brothers we will drive it in the parade for him. Marc

Re: Hi, New member here
Welcome, a van with windows only on one side is called a "display van" and was sold in huge fleets to utility companies who outfitted the non window side with racks of shelves for the repairman, usually the phone co., plumbers, electricians, etc. to store parts, the window/door side was to let light into to see the shelves and form an aisle to get at everything, hence display van. Sport vans have full windows and had finished interiors with seats like station wagons....jazzcat wrote:Welcome, Im also new to this site.
