Re: hippy interior
thanks dix, yeah i got a small one on the back window dont bother knocken if this vans a rockin, thats all the stickers i want besides the vintage vans.com on the outside, i'll put some more on the dash, i got rid of the piece sign stickers on the side glass, i want to keep the outside clean, thinking of putting full moon disc hub caps on it, the chrome rims are getting rusted, i think the spun aluminum full caps would look good,

Re: hippy interior
Theres a hubcap shop around here thats been around since the 40's I believe. They have a huge stock of old mags too. Perhaps look for a place like that near you? Here I can get some vintage mags all day long for I think its $40 a wheel. not too shabby.

Cupholder looks like it fits the doghouse perfect. Nice addition. Good luck with the mags!

Re: hippy interior
dodge man on my set up the Craigars 14 inch went over the disc brake set up that i used, but most old school wheels would not like the mopar ralleye wheels and the magnum wheels.

Re: hippy interior
DodgeMan, I think your custom cup holder idea might just be "borrowed" by a few people. Thanks for sharing. It's those little touches that make an interior look more finished. Super Job!

Re: hippy interior
no problem vanny, i used a cuting disc on a dremel to make it fit level, it took a while getting it just right, its much better than those cheep hanging cupholders that you put between the door glass and door,

Re: hippy interior
I really like that cup holder/ storage also. But as I will be building a low console (7"double din head unit) in front of doghouse and below A.C, I am looking to go old school and do this on rear portion of dog house lid
By the way have any of us told you how good your interior is LOOKING? Really like the shag you picked

Re: hippy interior
How many channel amp? If it is a 4 channel with bridging capability I would run the subs (You have 2 subs?) in series and bridge them then run straight to others with caps on them.
So to describe. run a wire from the positive of one sub to the negative of the other. Then run the positive from one and the negative to the other to the bridge terminals. If you look on your amp you will see the terminals and they should should show a minimum of 4 terminals for speakers. They might be listed as such...
2 Channel Amp (from your picture it looks like a 2 channel

- + - +
4 Channel Amp
(-) (+)
- + - + - + - +
(You get the idea)
The top symbols show the terminals to use for bridging. This will apply 2X as much power to the subs with energy and allows one sub to move one direction while the other moves the opposite direction making them much more efficient. If you only have a 2 channel I would run your other speakers, non subs, directly from the deck. Most have a pre-amp that does a decent job but I would still cap them so they it is not trying to run any low range sound through your mid/high ranged speakers.
If it is a 4 channel then you should have 8 terminals. You can then hook your other speakers, no matter how many you have, to those other 4 terminals. I would cap them per the ratings. Midrange, highs, etc. Caps are cheap and you just solder them in line with the positive wire. This will prolong the life of the speaker plus reduce distortion.
Another thing is I would get a cap for the amp itself. Caps allow the amp to draw power from the cap when under heavy load. Think of it as a reservoir of power. It fills with power between "Thumps" of bass and then releases it on demand.

Re: hippy interior
thanks so much mat, i only have one sub and its a 2 channel amp, so do you think i should run only the sub to the amp with a cap and the four speakers from the deck? i dont want to vibrate the van, i only want a good sound not break my ear drums, lol
