Yes, Steely's chili cheesedog fan solves a similar problem with the fresh air vent on the driver's side: only works when the van is moving!

......Hey Don, What D Al is that!! How does it work? Did you get it from Hell's Kitchen? Please do tell us more.
And this hood scoop thingy sounds interesting too.
I must say enjoy your posts and pictures, that is what I call thinking out side the Box vanner style.
Keep it coming Don.
Like the guys said,,,,,a 1st Gen has the worlds worst cooling system,,,,,,and the gas just sits in the bowl and the doghouse keeps all the heat in, so the gas starts expanding and evaporating and it mostly flows down into the carburetor,,,,flooding it out and smelling up the place,,,,so I put a fan to blow the air through the radiator over the carb and out over the transmission,,,,and it keeps the doghouse, AND YOU, cooler,,,also if you are stopped or see the temp gauge going up, I turn it on,,,,,there is an on/off switch but I like that 60 minute ceiling fan timer switch best,,,,set it and forget it,,,,otherwise the fan will kill the battery if left on overnight,,,,,,Scott needs a bellypan and I found one that someone cut open and added a scoop to,,,,those louvers on a bellypan are what forces the air up from the ground towards the radiator so the waterpump fan can suck it through the radiator,,,,,,this is Vanishes Blue No Door set up......my fan is off a Honda Accord, $15 at the 1/2 price Pik a Part sale....

Donny- You should have designed the original vans, that's absolutely ingenious! I like the timer with override option. Will keep this in mind when it gets to be my turn to do this, thank you.

Where did you get your new glove box from? the one i ordered just doesn't fit right.
I bought it on eBay and these guys have others(See link below). At $14.95 I thought I got a good deal, but there is a $10,90 shipping fee too. Nonetheless, it fits and now I actually have a spot to put my reg/insurance and other misc. items.

Re: The Surfing Guy's 65
Alright...cleaned and painted my new belly pan w/ scoop.
AND I have been working on my "new" sun visors...
Here's what I had left of the originals
I used the original design to cut a template out of some scrap paneling that my good friend Don gave me:
Mounted the cutouts onto the brackets and painted them both. I still have to paint the other side and then I will ready to install in the van:

Teamwork...I Like it! Gotta be a great feeling to be putting on some finishing touches instead of all the heavy duty stuff you guys were working on not too long ago!

Scott, I think you should add your van to the Blue Vans thread with that sweet Glacier Blue Color!

I live up in the mountains, east of San Diego, so all of these guys are more than an hour from me,,,,,,,that would be one of the reasons my van has over 500,000 miles on it,,,,,,

Re: The Surfing Guy's 65
I heard that Don has been known to make an occasional house call! LOL Maybe a Chilifest of some sort to tempt him to visit? From the sounds of some of these threads, looks like there's a few of these guys we'd all like to have a visit from for assistance. At least this site provides access to a HUGE knowledge base that we can draw from when we have questions.
Scott and Don, those mirrors are gonna look great!
Sox won their first game against the Yankees!!!(Just in case you hadn't heard yet, Scott.)

Re: The Surfing Guy's 65
I told Scott if he bought a grease gun, I would introduce him to the fittings on the Drag link, Tie rods, Brake and Clutch pedals, cross shaft, Kingpins and U Joints,,,,I said that name Lucas on the grease gun means something to me,,,,,one of my heros --Lucas McCain,,,,,Scott wants to know if he is a vanner......
