Nate mention his bud Brian, BRIAN is the world's absolute foremost major Dodge A100 expert type Guru without the saffron hare krishna robes, great guy and all round good egg! BRIAN is also President of the A100 Association, you'll want to join if you have an Dodge A100/108, the best $15 I've ever spent. If I were you I'd ask Brian first because he's been there and done that 440 motor thing!! I've got pictures of his collection of Dodge A100 Vans & P/Us and I do mean collection!! Take the time to invest a dime and call Brian to get it right (you'll be a happy camper)

I'm down at Brian's almost every weekend. He's got another big-block van in the works...with a 400 (aka the Mopar BB that get's no respect).

Re: 440 in a A100 sportman van
Thats what i bought not that long ago, i got a BB 440 but its wider with no heads then the small block is so im thinking when i put it in that im going to have to lower the motor just a little and widen the dog house to get it to fit but first i have to build the motor up. once i get started ill keep pictures up and tell everyone how it goes.

400 in an A-108
Use 62-65 B-body big block engine brackets with A-van style small block rubber mounts (Anchor P/N 2338). Drops right in.
You can see we did notch the floor on the drivers side about 2", but this doesn't have to done, but it does give you a bit more room around the exhaust manifolds.

Re: 440 in a A100 sportman van
that fits better then i thought it would and the dog house goes right back over it well widened on the one side. that looks good as soon as i get finished building it which idk when that will be cuz im a little low on the green right now and the way i want to build is going to cost a pretty penny so right now im just finishing the body work and putting new wheel tubs in (soon to be 18" wide tires) whenever i finish that

I've heard of some of the early Chevy guys using Dodge doghouses with the V8 conversions.

Re: 440 in a A100 sportman van
now all i have to do is narrow the rear end but at the moment dont have enough cash to do that so for now im just going to leave the big wheel tubs untill i get enough to narrow it for the big tire
