    Keeps engine heat away from carb float bowl, helps prevent vapor lock and/or fuel percolation.

    ive never seen any 1 bbl shields? ever -that 2 bbl is only 1 i have ever seen - GM in 60-70's made the holley & quadrajet shields-ive bought some of those -i just bought the one off ebay -just to have it -collection - dont ever think ill use it ever?? affraid no one was bidding on it either.

    I bet it could be fabbed from aluminum sheet and just use 2 gaskets, one on top and one below

    yes g-man they do i believe its same as the holley model?/& yes one could fab the stuff today yet will take some research as bottom gasket was like 3/8 inch thick maybe 1/4 also .

    with aluminum sheet you could cut it out with an exacto blade. just make a few passes and it would be all the way through.

    Great idea. I might just take some of that high temp silicone sheet one finds in high end cooking supply and cut to fit. It would just flop down like a blanket yet still block a lot of heat. Still the factory ones look like the way to go if I can find one again. Thanks.

    I have one and to be honest, i cant tell the difference between before i put it on and after. Starts the same (meh) when its hot. I figured it was worth a shot if it would help.
