I'm re-posting this for a friend, with luck Donivan will chime in??? Smile

    '69 steering column ass'y - please help!

Does anyone know where I can find a detailed picture of how the turn signal harness and horn button ass'y goes together on a '69 Chevy? My shop manual only shows a few parts and no detail on the orientation of the bearing, spring, wiring harness and horn button contacts, etc. After driving this van for 27 years, I thought it would be nice to make the horn button work once and for all. Thanks.

The bearing goes into the turn signal switch retainer,,,then a cone shaped washer goes on the shaft, then the spring,,,,,the plastic cancelling cam bolts to the underside of the steering wheel,,,,then the steering wheel goes on with a washer and nut,,,,then the long horn brush fits in the hole to reach through the steering wheel,,,then the plate, cup, and the 3 screw plastic retainer go on,,,,then the button,,,,,,click on the picture for a bigger view of a 1st gen set up,,,,,and then, after the steering wheel is on, you loosen the steering column bolts and clamp and pull the column up to close up any gap between it and the steering wheel.....
