I haven't updated my story in awhile. When I purchased my 64 Econo it had a drop front axle that created serious suspension issues making it really unsafe to drive. After trying to come up with a solution I finally decided to bring it back to stock. However finding a complete axle assembly locally proved to be a problem. A couple of forum members had what I needed but the shipping costs proved to be prohibitive.
A couple weeks ago I found an early (year still unknown but believe it to be a 65 or newer) in the woods, totally by accident. I finally tracked down the owner, who was using it for storage and wasn't real interested in selling it, but this morning we finally struck a deal.
He said it ran when he parked it several years ago, so we'll see. If anyone has some parts they want please let me know. It is a panel van with windows in the side and rear doors. All of the doors look to be in pretty good shape, and I don't need any of them. I'll probably post on one of the other Econo pages on this site when I know more about what I've got, but if anyone has a wish list for bits and pieces please let me know. I'll be willing to sell anything I don't need for a reasonable price.
This is a good day for me. I was getting frustrated and this has reignited my enthusiasm for this project!
