Re: Unique find
Some ignition systems used to interfere with car radios & CB radios back in the 50's -70's vehicles. These systems were supposed to fix that problem. I had quite a few older rides that had the problem & most of the time it was the points condenser that caused the problem. If they was bad the humming would drive you crazy.

Re: Unique find
that is no doubt a kit for protecting the ignition system for old armed forces vehicles that are used in deep water. kind of a rare kit for sure. a lot of those old army vehicles were equipped this way for driving through rivers and such.

Re: Unique find
I don't buy the water protection. Even the box says "Electro-Shield". That's for radio noise supression. Take a look at older 'vettes. They have non-metallic bodies so the noise from solid core wire would interfere with radio reception. They also have shields. This appears to be an aftermarket setup. Pretty useless if you run supression spark plug wire (just about all the stuff you can buy is) and have a doghouse in your van.
The metal blocks radio waves, which is why you don't get good reception in metal buildings.

Re: Unique find
The only reference to this product or the company I've been able to find was a small press release in the trade jurnal for the Assoc. of Public Safety Communications from Nov. 1963. Bought it because it was interesting, complete, & realitively inexpensive. By the way he also a complete V8 set.

Re: Unique find
I used to work for an auto-parts warehouse back in the 80s that sold solid-state versions of these. Nothing this complex though. Might be cool in a car show, but putting that on a daily driver may cause more problems then it fixes.

Re: Unique find
I don't know that it would, it just seems like a complicated solution to something that is fixed pretty easy now days.
Just my 2 cents..
