    The repairs look great! If it has been catalogued with the govt, the next inspection might involve the garage hitting the spots with a hammer (to check for glass or bondo), so give em a tap, clean it up and paint it. Should have no worries.

    I wish I could fire up the welder and get started on mine... still too much snow.

    What did you use, MIG or stick? What funky things happened through the course of the repairs? I'm positive I have some stuff like this on mine too, so I'd like to hear all about it!

    Ii was using a mig welder. It went pretty smoothly. The only problems I ran into was when I first started I wasn't removing enogh of the bad metal and ended up with some blow through.

    Cool... a stick welder would have been harder to use then. I have a cheap stick welder and a little Lincoln MIG... and a new Christmas B&D angle grinder wanting to get broken in!!!!

    Yes, Grinder's are an early Vanner's best friend!!!!! I myself should buy stock in grinding wheels...
