Motor swap in Econoline? Empty Motor swap in Econoline?

Post by Guest Wed Dec 10, 2008 2:51 pm

    Hello
My question is , will a 250ci motor out of a 1973 mustang work in a 1964 Econoline that has a 170ci now? Dont know if these motors are like the 240\300 motors or are they like the 144-170-200? Thanks for any help. Glenn

Hello Glenn, the 64 has the short doghouse and you run into the same problems as you would if you were swapping in a 240/300. Also, you will need an engine xmember from a later Econoline as well. If you can find a 65-67 Econoline for parts, you're in business.

    Later,

Didn't know Ford made a 250 engine. Learn something new everyday.
