and its asking if its the Warner T86 transmission,
    or this T89 transmission,
    or Warner model T87 transmission.
i walked to the store and they dont have any of the seals so that i can compare them with the one the van has

Though the early falcons came with the "T3" or Type "C" Tranny...
and I believe your motor would be one of these.

Can you post a pic of the engine? Are you looking for the rear seal on the trans? What is the number cast on your engine block, head, intake manifold? All of these will help. If the trans is original this should be easy.
    Most likely: BCA/NATIONAL Part # 470059

i was thinking of just getting the rear one, but its better if i just put them all.

Block number will be found below the manifolds, near the oil pan. If the trans is hanging from the original mount it is likely original and the above part number should be correct, it is the only one listed for the Econoline in 62. Your engine is a 63-65 200CID based on the intake number. Hopefully they only replaced the engine, in 65 there are 5 choices for the output shaft seal!

    Good Luck,

It's ok, They color coded the engines. We can still let him know what size puppy he's got in that dog house.....

Unless it was a complete conversion... Then who knows. Question

Dan, are you alright man, this is a van we are talking about... they didn't come with V8 engines.

Beanses, according to your VIN, you have a 62 Falcon Club Wagon. The 'T' means it came with a 170 CID 6cyl engine and the 'H' means it was built by the Ford factory in Lorain, OH. If you can give me the other two lines on your VIN plate, I can tell you more.

Since you have what seems to be the original transmission here's a link to Advance Auto's website with the part you need. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/ProductList.aspx?PartType=1203&PTSet=A I bought one from them a few years ago at a local store. It fit perfect. The original transmission in 61/62 is a non-synchro type with a solid driveshaft, yoke slides into the transmission. This is what you should have. If not they could have also switched the transmission also. In 63/64 they changed to a driveshaft with a slip yoke in it and a full synchro transmission which has the u-joint bolted to it. Both use the same single bolt donut style hanger mount. In 65/67 the mount style was changed.
