    ..the cable is not broke but the out side part that the cable gos into is
    melted and not working and my speedodometer not working the thing is
    it looks like its a two peice and all the new parts are one one peice , my van is 1964 how or where can i this part can someone help!!!

    Ok,,,,,,this is a Chevy set up,,,,,there is a cable inside the housing,,,,,it pulls out from behind the end hooked to the speedometer,,,,there is a plastic gear inside the adapter that goes into the transmission,,,,,if the you take the cable and housing to a Speedometer/tach/Driveshaft/4WD shop, they will make you up a new one,,,,,
