Re: e brake cables for 9" ford
Big W , I love it it must really piss off ford guys. I put a 400 pontiac is a 4wd dodge truck years ago just for fun. The only real reason for the 9" is that I don't think the stock rears will hold up to my supercharged ls. Plus I've had this rear end for 10 years and it never really fit anything I was building. It's going to be almost bolt in to the 64 B

Re: e brake cables for 9" ford
I forget the year change right now, but its as easy as a single E brake cable versus the 67's two E brake cables. The earlies used a single cable and the mounts welded on the truck for the cables are welded in a different position than the 67's dual cable mount location. So,, if you have the single cable setup in your truck, simply remove the cable from your small rear end, and put it into the 67's backing plates.
Its easy, just use a small hose clamp to compress the barbs on the E brake cable ends so you can pull it out.
Then all you need to do is push the ones you want into your 9" backing plates that you already removed the cables from. I cant remember but I think the 64's used the dual cable setups also..

Thanks for the response. I wish the 9" ford ones where there, I cut them off 10 years ago. But I think I can use the ones that on my 64 gmc van now. hopefully later today I will get set the rear end in the van and check Bob

Re: e brake cables for 9" ford
TOO much rigamaro and hassle. I MAY have one extra set (two cable setup) extra for sale. Its one of those kick myself in the pants and learn to keep an eye out for. I have four rear ends here needing them to be complete ones. Will look when I get a chance.

Old sckool, you wouldn't believe this but the ones on my 64gmc fit right in the 67 ford backing plate. I hate to say this but ford built this rear end to fit into a g series van Bob
