Post by slowflapper Mon Oct 24, 2011 8:02 am

It was that time again this weekend for the 44th Annual Moonshine Festival and Car Show in North GA. The announcer said there were over 1000 cars there this year and I believe it. The car show covers a cruise in Friday night and the show runs Saturday and Sunday as well. I arrived at 10:30 am on Saturday and they were already scrambling trying to find more parking for show cars.

The show itself covered a large parking lot and the adjacent side streets as well as the parking lot of a school that was very close by. I've been there 3 years in a row and as usual, had the only van in the show.

direct link to my picture gallery is here for those that are interested but I didn't take as many pictures as last year.

No vans at all unfortunately, I was hoping bugeye bob could make it but his fuel tank is getting reworked if I remember correctly. I know of three E's in the area but none of the owners are really van guys, they just ended up with them in various states of disrepair and don't do car shows.

Ah bummer I knew there was a car show I was suppose to go to, yeah not in the van but I have other modes of transportation. Next year the bugeye van will be parked next to Slowflapper van if I have to tow it there, besides the Varsity (hogdog joint) has to be closeby.

Sounds good to me Bob, the Dawsonville Pool Room has a catering trailer at the show every year, good burgers and fries Smile

The guy from "This Old Car" with the handlebar mustache was there shooting some parts for his show. Unfortunately I was parked 150 yards away or so and didn't want to ask him to go up there to get a pic with the van.

Next year I might drive in on Friday for the cruise in and just leave the van there overnight so I can get a good spot.
