    Choke cable Empty Choke cable

Post by Rayallen Wed Oct 19, 2011 10:53 am

I either need to replace or repair my choke cable. The cable going from the front of the doghouse to the top of my carb. It seems to long or have stretched over the years. I can turn the knob but nothing happens to the carb unless I actually grab the cable and pull on it.

The cable seems to be longer than needed, runs from the top/front of the doghouse under the motor and back up to the carb.

    Easy fix?

I rebuilt the carburetor but is running a little rich. Not being able to control the cable does not help..

Look down the carb and watch the choke plate,,,,the choke cable is only made to pull and close the plate,,,,the plate should open all the way up when you push the choke knob back in,,,,,,and it should pull in and out easy,,,,,,,
