    announcements, global announcements and stickies are all kept at the top of the list when you go to look in a section.... so they don't get lost and is relevant to newbies and old timers alike....

    I recently found out I can change those to different name...

    Sticky reminds me of a post-it-note, and it serves it purpose well, but what else can we call it? Any ideas? scratch

    How about "PINNED".

    We have used it in other forums over the years as an alternative but "Sticky" or the "Sticky Post" has always been the web forum standard...

    How about "Head of Thread!"

    Chebby, in relation to this topic, I've always felt there were way too many stickys at the top of this section. I just counted 10 Permanotes before you get to new topics. Figuring out a way to consolodate all those together so that fresh threads popped up closer to the top would seem to make it easier to find new topics. My two cents.
