Nope. I do a very similar econo visor. The econo is wider. I'll gladly sell someone an econo visor if they want to chop it up. I've received three pm's about this visor in the last two days. If I did make it it would cost $200. I have never seen anyone pony up that kinda money for a visor.

If I was looking for one $200 wouldn't be a problem. We have to remember no one is making these parts and have to be will to pony up some cash for some of these custom parts if someone is willing to make them for us

Matchstick makes high quality fiberglass parts. I would not hesitate to buy a part from him if I needed one. He is making me a cap fore my dog house and a console for it. Can't wait to get them in the pickup.

Mike $200 for an econo visor.
G man you're exactly right. No one makes these parts and then when someone does and puts the price representing their time and materials people scoff at the price. Fiberglass is a craft like any thing else; an itchy one at that. People do not appreciate it. I personally don't plan on investing much more in to it than the molds I've already made. I own an early chevy so I might make a few new things other wise the new van part market is as dry as the salt flats, or in plain words a bad investment for me.

Re: Wanted J & J Visor for 65 Van (Help)
So does that mean the J&J visor could be done for $200? That price is not beyond reasonable for me to understand. Right now I seem to have $200 but I don't have a Righteos visor. Seems like a fair trade to me!
With that said u still need a donor to make the mold correct?

I'll get a hold of Rollie. I sold him one of those a couple years ago. It was NOS. Thankfully they're not very big so they don't eat up a lot of material but If you look at the photo they take more time because they have steel reinforcements in them.

Re: Wanted J & J Visor for 65 Van (Help)
MatchstickBGV ~ I have an old original Econoline visor I'm going to be putting on my Super 8 van.
The back side looks just like the one in Vanadian's picture, can I paint right over the fiberglass mesh or does it need some type of coating first? As I'll be able to see it from inside the van I would like it to look nice.

Re: Wanted J & J Visor for 65 Van (Help)
Hey Lino man. I have the Same visor you have. Yes you can paint directly over the fiberglass on the inside. Primer is recomended for adhesion of course. You will want to scuff the fiberglass with 320 or 400 grit paper before you spray paint or primer for good adhesion as well. What we do with the fiberglass hoods we make at my work is we smooth out an area like that. We sand down the glass with a DA sander and then fill any lows. Next we spray on a polyester primer for build. We then block sand and repeat that process until its smooth without highs and lows. Then we epoxy prime it and wet sand the epoxy with four hundred grit paper. This is usually part of the process we go through when creating a plug (original part) to take a mold from but we also do that on finished products before paint as well. You don't have to go through all that but I want you to know you can work that glass to whatever finish you want. Just be sure to wear a respirator , safety glasses, and gloves when working with glass and long sleeves if you're real sensitive to the fiberglass. You don't want to breath it. Also be kind to your neighbors if you live in a subdivision or something. Don't blow glass dust on to their cars or back porch. They won't be fans of that.
If anyone wants to see the stuff we make at work go to www.allisonscustoms.com. Thats the rod shop I work at 9-5. And just so ya know I got a job there after making van doors. I'm a vanner at a rod shop not a rodder making van stuff. My boss helps me out a lot though and helps me gaurantee that the few parts I do make are quality.
Good Morning & Thanx,
The visor was made by J&J fiberglass in the 70's. I is for a 64 to 70 chevy van. I have someone that stated they might be able to copy it. I will chack to see when she can & let you know.
I don't have the part number of the visor that I sent a picture of, However I was talking to TAZVAN at Vannin and he said his was from a 64 to 70
