I just bought a 1964 econoline pickup and i cant seem to find any info on how many were built in 1964. The body style is the 87a (with the nice blind spots lol), 170 engine, and 3 on the tree. Anybody know how many of these were built that year?

They didn't build a lot in any of the years compared to vans.

Here's the numbers on Econoline pickup production I have.
1961 14893
1962 8140
1963 11394
1964 5184
1965 7405
1966 3090
1967 2015
Most 61's pickups are early production as Ford expected pickups to outsell vans much the same way pickups outsold panel trucks in the 50's. After the van sales took off pickup production slowed way down.
63 Production was up due to a large order from the Air Force.
65 Production was up due to Spring Specials.
Hope this helps.

Does that include all pickups? I know they made 3 window and 5 window versions. Can you break the numbers down any more for each version?

I'm not sure what you mean by standard and custom. What is the difference and how can I tell which one I have? I dont know much about these trucks except that they are rare and hard to find and that I own one now

It's a real gray area as to what made a custom a custom. It basically boils down to the seat upholstery. On 61-62's, woven upholstery is custom, embossed is standard. I was wrong and the windows. All customs have five window cabs but not all five windows were customs. Other items in the custom list were left side door lock, deluxe steering wheel and horn ring. All opitions were available seperate as well. After 63 the custom was identified in the data plate. A 63 87A on the data plate for standard, 87B for a custom. A standard truck will have a number prefix on the trim code. A custom will have a letter prefix on the same code.
I don't want to pretend I know all this information about Econolines. I get my information from Jay Long at the econosrus yahoo group. He is a vast knowledge of information about our trucks. He has been documenting them for many years. He has been a big help to me with my questions. If you go to the group and post your data tag information he will be able to tell you what your truck came with originally. He will also like to add your info to his registry. He loves this kinda stuff.
Hope this helps.
