finally got my exhaust gaskets changed today, smells better in the van and i'm not feeling sick after driving it. the manifold bolts were all finger tight and the gasket was blown to shreds. after all i have done on the van i never thought to do that. the motor would have had no back pressure at all.

Re: monoxide bomb
nice and quiet now doesnt stink and has more power, no more back firing either. all for 16 bucks. oh and i'm not having heart palpitations and elephant on the chest syndrome. i was ready to go to the doctor because i've been having these chest tightness episodes. it was all from the monoxide. it would have been cool to use the doc to diagnose a motor problem though!! hahaha

Re: monoxide bomb
I keep a battery powered carbon monoxide detector in all of my old vehicles. They're cheap and you can stick them anywhere. Carbon monoxide is scary stuff... whether it kills you outright or you fall asleep at the wheel... it's better to be on the safe side.

Re: monoxide bomb
Replaced mine earlier this week due to trial fittings a set of b-body headers that didn't fit. Found out my coolant leak was from one of the exhaust studs though. No carbon monoxide is a good thing too, since I noticed some of the gaskets were looking a little toasted.
