Any issues replacing the sealed beams with halogen sealed beams?

There should not be. I researched this for my 1940 Plymouth.
They are more efficient so although they put out more light, they use the same amperage.
This applies to the halogen bulbs that are not sealed beams too.
    Here is an example

I would suggest that when you replace them that you clean all connections especially the grounds. Kind of a good thing to do on all electrical stuff.

I have them for my 66 Panel. Direct replacement and they work great...

Cool Thanks guys. Any experience with putting a dummy load resistor in for led taillights? Looks simple but an electrician I am not and I still remember what early van wires smell like when they burn even though that 30 years ago Wink

When I went with LED taillights, all I had to do was replace the turn signal flasher with an electronic one. Any of the chain auto parts stores should have one.

I was going to buy one and the guy at speedway said the resistors work better. Maybe they work better for his profit margin?

I have a 67 and the flasher is different than on my 65. My flasher looks like a horn relay. It has a metal casing and bracket and is fastened to the firewall. Did you have one like that? I've seen the led flashers for 10 bucks.

My '67 had the large 2 wire flasher 'box' also. Seems like I had to make a jumper/adapter wire to hook up the electronic flasher in place of it. When I yanked the LED bulbs from the '67 and put them in the '66 I forgot to change the flasher and they wouldn't blink.

Thanks. I think I'll get a flasher and send back the resistors when they get here. I'd have to think that the resistors would get a bit warm

Thanks. I've been cleaning connections. Brake light switch and others were getting a bit corroded too.
