I have a '65 Mustang 200ci in my van with a 4spd manual. It's going to be in the 100's soon here in AZ so I just bought a complete A/C system from another '65 Mustang. Has anyone ever done this install? If so, what other complications should I look forward to? I'm looking for mounting brackets that will work with my generator. I guess I could just upgrade to an alternator but the generator is working fine. I'll post pics in a few...

What I'm working with:
I have a dryer and a condenser as well. This unit uses the old freon and I can get it filled it, will just cost more. From what I understand it blows colder than the newer systems too.

I'm planning on doing the same install in the future and I'm viewing the threads that Carl has written on his Econo. Only bad thing is, his install is on a 240 and I"m in the same boat as you with the 200. I'm afraid the 200 might not have enough ass in it to run the A/C to it's full potential. It will probably rob 15-20 Hp from the engine which doesn't have alot of HP to begin with. I'm sure I will have to upgrade to a alternator to handle the extra amps for the compressor and electric fan I'll have to install for the extra cooling it will need, don't think that 43 amp generator I have now will cut it. Plus I'll have to cut the mutt box for compressor clearances as I plan to go with a Sand 508 or 9. On a good note. I found a bracket that will work, just got to get around to order it when I decide which way to go. Good Luck with yours and hope you post a thread on your progress.

my van has a 200 in it with an alternator that is on the lower passenger side, the top fo the alternator mount is slotted for a compressor.

Do you have any pictures of it? I think I'm going to install a 250 so I might just make all custom mounts while the motor is out.

Sorry I don't have any, but its a factory mount for the motor in 65 and I'm sure other years as well. It was on the motor when I got the bus. One thing to add would be that it almost completely blocks the path of the accelerator rod that goes from the pedal Jack shaft to the mouse trap at the back of the dog house. Mine was all bent you when I got it and with all the worn linkages it has I thought it would be much easier to run a Morse style push/pull cable to eliminate the link between the body and the throttle.
