Got a roof rack....Anyone else Sport a rack?

[b][i]Got a new to me, Used gutter clamp roof rack. I think it looks retro!! Anyone else use a rack? Please show pics.

I have a rack for mine just don't run it on all the time...Surf board rack !

I'm planning on making one of these for mine....



It will be adapted to take my canoes as well....

Sy, is the roof rack you're using made for a VW Bus or is it made for an Econoline?
I've wondered if the VW ones would fit, seems like the Econo roof is flatter.
A buddy of mine is into VW's and a lot of the Busses and Pick-ups have them at the shows.

I think it would look very cool on a Econo.....

I have a set of the old gutter clamp racks that I bolted a hunk of plywood on for taking bikes to the Ann Arbor Swap meet last few years, I won't be taking this van anymore since I sold it last winter.

I had to sleep in another guy's van, mine was too full of junk.

Ann Arbor Swap meet.... Remember going to it as a kid... Always cool stuff there!

The one in the photo is for a VW camper, not sure on how well it would fit an Econoline, as i am planning on making my own from scratch.... They are very expensive to buy over here, as is everything else for VW campers....!!!

I lov roof racks so much I have two...HAAH!

The rack I had on my '67 chevy vears ago, came off of a mid-sixties Rambler wagon I found in a JY. It fit perfectly and had chrome strips (that I never put on) for the ribs of the roof. Wish I could find one for my current '67 van, I'm still lookin'.

Funny Frogger. I have a set of those chrome strips....

Not sure to be honest, that photo came from somebody who was selling them on Ebay UK for VW vans. That was a couple of years ago, i just saved the picture because i want to make one just like it. They were very expensive, well over $1000 and may not be the right size for an Econoline.... Sorry

They are cool though, seen a few shorter ones on Splitscreen vans over here, but the longer ones are rare....

This one came n my 64 when I bought it. I cleaned the stainless and painted the alluminum side rails. It looks like it was made for the van as if fits like a glove.

We came to sunny Florida from up state N.Y. ( Binghamton ) 11 years ago and never looked back.
Never been on a board and back tells me dont' even think about it ! Did a lot of snow sking in younger times. Where do you hale from?

I had that same rack on my 1965 Econoline. It was also the TV antenna!

I have these chrome rails on my old mini van. I may get another set to go on my econoline. They came off an old renault i think, and also found on some boats....!!!
