Road test of M1D2KV set up
I installed and road tested the 12" rotor set up today.

The install and bleed was flawless. just fitts the 15" wheels with 1/8" clearance.

The road test proved to be as expected. definetly better braking then the 11.16" rotor set up I had just removed. At all braking speeds and pedal intensities the pedal is higher and the van dipped harder and stopped faster in all trials. The pedal is higher because the caliper piston is smaller.

Now I'm getting rear lock up at full on braking because the wieght transfer is so much more on hard braking that the rear is lifting the wieght off the wheels.

I like it alot and will be keeping it on my van. I found I had to start re-learning not to hit the pedal as hard as I'm used to.

How will they cool? It seems they are not going to get much air flow.

Actually these rotors come left and right because they have the angled vanes in them so the rotor acts like a turbine compressor and actually pumps air through its center as it turns. This is unlike regular rotors that have strait vanes and simply "throw" the air out by centrifugal force.

Besides that, the caliper has 1/8" clearance but the rotor is about 1.25" from the wheel so theres lots of breathing room.

When I got back from the agressive road tests and draging the front brakes to seat them in. The brake stunk of burning and the wheels were hot to touch. Thats pretty normal when seating in brakes. All the anti corrosin protection is burning off the rotors and the caliper paint and pads are getting cooked up.
Then it dawned on me that like a dumb ass I didn't pay attension to which rotor I put on which side. Its easy enough to check, I just have to take one wheel off and look.

The piston in my master cylinder is a 1.125". That may have no relevence to what you might like. I have a linkage that multiplys the pedal ratio and a booster.
    The rotor is a 12" X 1" from Napa pn 48-86702 and 48-86703
