How many numbers should there be in the VIN number for a 1967 A100 window van? How do you decipher the numbers? I am looking at 10 characters on my VIN plate ( 2082105239 ) shouldn't there be 17 characters?

20=window van
8=V8 (318)
2=built plant (not sure which one off hand)
105,239=sequence number
BTW, 17 digit VIN's didn't come into effect until 1981.
