weve covered this before -yet has anyone used the muratic acid before to clean the rust out of a fuel tank?? just curious as Im told by some motorcycle shops that the way they do it.

The last time I used muratic acid to clean some mustang parts it worked great. But I would suggest you use it outside, and not in a small shop where their might be any exposed metal surfaces close by...lol...I didn't and everything in my dads garage that was bare metal was covered in a light dusting of oxcidization. Kinda looked like stuff was starting to rust...OOOOps my bad. Just my .02 cents worth on this.

That stuff is nasty and hence effective. After using muratic on mine, I rinsed it real well and then used the Miracle Paint kit that had cleaner, etch (a different acid) and then the coating which takes a long time to solidify. As I am doing this slowly I had weeks to move the tank around to keep the liner flowing. Of course, I won't know how well it all works until it fails. So far so good, happy motoring.

i have my radiator guys clean and coat mine, runs me about a hundred bucks.
