Axle help needed Empty Axle help needed

Post by EconoUSAparts Sun Jan 23, 2011 11:40 am

Im posting this here for maximum exposure. Im in the market for a slightly narrower 9 inch rear end for my 62 pickup Im mini
tubbing. The 57-59 Fairlane used a 57.25 width versus our Econolines which were
around 61.5 or 61.25 so I ve read. I dont have any loose to measure right now. I
ve also read rare versions of the 65-66 Mustangs had that same width. Anybody
    got a line on one?
I could go with a early Bronco but its 58 inches and needs the axles
redrilled to 5 on 4 and a half pattern. Also the 77-81 Versailles with rear
discs is a good choice and I ve read both 58 and 58.5 on the width of those.
Any help locating is appreciated. I know I can start from scratch and make
one any width I need but cost is always a factor and nothing beats a whole setup
    complete.

The Grabber Maverick had a nine inch rear the is the width you are looking for. You can still find them fairly easy. You could also go with the regular Maverick eight inch if you don't plan on a big horse power engine. The V-8 Mavericks had 5-4.5 axles.

    Duane in Tennessee.
