Need help with throttle cable Empty Need help with throttle cable

Post by Guest Wed Jan 19, 2011 10:50 pm

I have the parts for a 66 throttle cable setup. I need the underfloor location of the cable bell crank at the gas pedal. I have a 62 truck and there are no holes in the floor board or location markers. A picture or diagram would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

I was going to use the original pedal assembly, which goes under the heater box and attach the "new" bell crank to it. I have not seen a pedal assembly of a 66 vintage for sale. Any help would be great.

Well its different and you need the other pedal assembly. With that installed, the rest will be obvious. The other assembly has a shorter rod and the mousetrap just hooks right up to a bracket coming off of it. I guess you could weld one onto what you have but you would need one to compare to first. I dont have any extras, sorry.

I see you are in San Leandro. Contact Jay Long in your town. Im sure he has one or knows where one is locally in a junkyard.

The local yards have no Econolines for parts. I saw one truck complete for sale last October at a yard in Fremont. I constantly look for parts. Do you have one?

Site member Eric Duffle from Mississippi thinks he has one. Have you tried asking Jay Long since he is right in your own neighborhood?

It is a whole lot easier to use the floor mount gas pedal from Lokar or the one sold at this site ( http://www.reidsrodparts.com/INT12.html )scroll down near the bottom of the page. I have used the $49.00 one and I really like it. and then get a cable from Vic or have one made locally. Very simple to hook up and looks great too.
