I've been doing some little things lately and took some pictures. Wife's camera is a pain to download pics from, so hopefully I can attach these successfully!

After much thought I decided to put my stereo head in the glovebox. Hated to sacrifice it but I like the clean look. I also am about to rewire the whole thing and needed a place to put the fusebox. Ended up killing two birds with one stone, with the addition of a two input cig lighter in the glove box for cell phone and nav power needs. (The glove box works like a jewel - but I need a nicer stop cable.) The only problem I had was I caused a major (in my mind) paint chip on the edge of the glovebox. I was being so careful about bending the box tab mount about 1/8" and the paint on the edge just popped. I wasn't that close to it either. I'm still pretty pissed at myself, but don't know what else I could have done. I have a D&D polished aluminum dash cover, which will go on after I finish all the new wiring.

Here's some more. A couple shots of my Clifford headers. I've also cleaned and painted the doghouse inside and out. Lined it with high temp insulation and added new foam insulation (Home Depot) top and bottom. Would like to get the real deal for up top eventually but the original was in horrible condition.

Thanks guys. I'm getting ready to tackle the interior once I get the wiring in place. Just got my Fatmat today, so that'll go in probably this week.

Fred Carello is doing me up a carpet set for the front floor, underdash bulkhead and wheel wells. Cut black pile. Can't wait!

I am on the lookout for the infamous fiberglass trim panel too.

"Is that a wrinkle finish on outside of d/h?"

Good eye. The previous owner coated the whole floor and dog house with spray-on truck bedliner. He actually did a good job, carefully taping off the areas around all the doors so there is a clean break line, but frankly I wish he hadn't done the doghouse. It's growing on me though.

I have a cover off of my old parts van that it still smooth and I could use that, but for now I'm sticking with what is there. I'm going to put a piece of black cut pile in the middle section of the top to dress it up a little. It's pretty rough to the touch - that's my biggest beef. And of course I could always get Fred to make me up a carpet set to cover the whole thing, but that would be WAY down the road.

"I have that same steering wheel in a box in my basement"

My old wheel was in sorry shape. I looked at a lot of wheels, and to my eye a customized van just screams for a different wheel. I would have liked it to be another inch or so wider in diameter, but couldn't find a suitable wheel in that size. I think this will work just fine, especially when I get all the finishing pieces in place.
