I will probably run into that same radiator problem on my project. Is there an option on mounting the tranny if you want to install a conventional 727 that does not have that "a" style top hanger? Thanks,brewster

Brian Bowie has a drawing for the underslung "U" shaped mount that will work but remember you are just drilling holes in the crossmember to hang this from, where the factory would have welded in nuts and or no crush sleeves/spacers in there to tighten - carry the load PROPPERLY. This setup is similar to the early B-Vans. Find and early 727 70's B-Van and scope it out.
Up to you on how well you want to mount this but I have only done one (where the upper EYE mount in the trans tailhousing was broken off by the PO) but I took the time to weld in tubular sleeves for the long bolts.
