Re: antenna location
Taking a measurement from a centerline through the holes for my stock '69 A100 antenna location shows that it is 2 1/2 inch from the windshield post and 4 inches down from the body line to the center of the large antenna hole (this is a 1/2 inch hole) and 5 1/2 inches to the small hole (this is a 1/4 inch hole). See Pictures. Hope that this helps. Scott…

Re: antenna location
Dix and Scott,
Not sure where the pics are from but these are NOT the factory stamped holes. Just giving a heads-up here since the holes in the pics are dealer or PO drilled...... I AM NOT SAYING THEY COULD NOT BE IN THE CORRECT POSITION, JUST THAT THEY ARE NOT THE HOLES STAMPED IN THE FRONT FACE PANEL WHEN THAT PANEL WAS PRODUCED AT CHRYSLER'S (DETROIT) OUTER DRIVE OR (WARREN) 9 MILE & MOUND STAMPING.
From 64 to 70 the factory stamped and therefore exact/correct holes would be an OVAL upper hole (not round) and the small hole below for the stud.

Re: antenna location
my 5 A's have all had the same holes as the ones from the pics so factory maybe?, original antenna holes definately.Oh and by the way the VW comunity uses the same style antenna for bay window busses so you can get one pretty easy and if ya put just a tad more effort in you can even get one with a metal chrome base not a cheap plastic base. check www.dubberstoybox.com

Re: antenna location
Pictures are of the antenna mounting holes on my '69 A100 Sportsman after the removal of my factory antenna. As far as I know they are from the factory. I've a friend in Oregon that had checked his A100 PU and his too are in the same location.
Also, regarding the factory antenna. My factory antenna mast is broke and I picked up a solid metal chrome one from eBay that is styled just like the black factory one, base is shaped the same it's just solid metal and chrome. The chrome one is the best replacement that I've come across yet although I am keeping my eyes open for an original NOS factory black one. Scott...
