Any one care to comment on the use of spot weld cutters. Ive never used one. Saw a set in Eastwood catalog. Price seemed to be OK.
How do they work, are they durable etc: ?

I used the ones from eastwood and got about 100 welds before they were dull. After that I used a drill bit for the welds on my donor panels.

I bought a set locally from Grainger but havent used then yet. I spent the extra cash and bought the set with replaceable tips to keep cost down in the long run. I saw the same set at the Cavallcade of Customs show last year in Cincinnati in the tool dealer area.

They do work, The one I bought I wasnt to impressed with the durability part. center punch and a 3/8" shallow ground drill bit worked best to me. The single hit spot welds they do okay on , but ya run into a doubled up one and its hard on them.

I got one from Eastwood and Grainger. The Grainger one lasted, the Eastwood one didn't. The do make a cleaner cut but a good drill bit saves you a lot of frustration....
