I remembered seeing an ad for wood floors with a pic of an Econoline in it in "Ol' School Rods" magazine. I dug out the Jan '10 issue and found the website. Here it is:

And Martha wonders why I keep magazines around forever.
Guess I showed her, huh?! (and let's keep that statement to ourselves!)

Those are nice but damned expensive. $3500.00 for the one I would buy if I had the extra cash. I'll have to stick with a spray liner

I bought southern yellow pine and made my own. I tinted clear eurethane with finish paint and then 4 coats of clear. much more reasonable then a kit. Only tools are a table saw and a router. Has held up well for 5 years. truck wood bed Hpim0610

Chester, your truck bed looks great. Did you make metal strips to, how labor intense was this project, and how much did you spend on materials approx. ? I have called around and these wood bed kits from companies can be quite costly. My goal is to build a driver, on a shoe string budget.

Joe, The matal strips were originals, but are avable new and are reasonably priced. The wood cost about $80.00 for clear southern yellow pine (listed as SYP at Home Depot). the mill work on the boards was done in one day with minimal tools. A kit of white oak is the most expensive way to go. Not in my budget!
