OUR CRASH
(this was a few years ago) We had just gotten our van back from the painter about a month ago, so we didn't have the front bumper on. We were coming up to an intersection, my dad was driving and I was in the passenger seat. The light turned red, and the brakes failed. My dad (with his fast reflexes) threw it into park (auto trans) and put the parking brake on, realizing the thing would not stop. He began to turn right hoping to avoid t-boning an oncoming car. The car hit us across the front of the van, busting in the headlight, bashing up the headlight ring, bashing in half of the front end and damaging the DODGE lettering. (somehow the turn signal survived) The car spun out across the intersection and luckily their weren't any cars coming from that direction for it to hit. At the same time that accident had happened, a hit n run occurred at the same intersection. We, the people in the car, and the hit n run victims turned into a parking lot and made sure we were all ok. We were all ok, not a scratch on any of us.
SINCE THE CRASH
We replaced the old single master cylinder with a double master cylinder and replaced all the brake lines. We took it back to the painter and he fixed up the front end like new. The letters were damaged of course, and dad never liked 'em anyway (I did) so the painter removed them and filled in the holes. We put the bumper back on, which dad hates because they are both all smashed up from previous accidents by previous owners. The old van lives on.
