Hey fellow van junkies. I gotta friend selling a 69 shorty....318 window van....8 door version.

He claims its uber rare....but I was wondering what the consensus is....is it all the rare...or not?

    All opinions welcome.
    Thanks!

Welcome to the site!!! And yes they are rarer than most vans. The sad news is even being a 8 door and being rare they are not worth a major $$$$. What is he asking for it???

So you got doors with no windows? What was the reason to get rid of windows?
I guess its a preference thing. Seems alot of money....16K....unless you took it alll down to metal did a fulll underbody...basiically rebuild the entire van....then I could see it costing that much.

Can you explain wihy it cost so much? I dont' have that knda coin....so Imi a bit worried now..

1500. aint bad as long as it runs, stops, and is not full of rust. My first one cost me 600 bucks and then the fever set in. I just brought #5 home and have spent quite a bit of money along the way. As you know you will never get the money out of your projects that you put in, but as long as it runs and stops and you have gone through all the running gear before worrying about looks you will be in good shape. Being 40+ years old pull all the brakes apart and make sure they are put together right, bearings are checked and packed. #1 if you don't know it the left side lugnuts are LEFT handed that way you don't break one off when trying to get the wheels off.

We had it at the Media Blaster's for @ 3 years as he redid the roof edging which was rusting very badly and his services were very $$$$$$! It's solid now though!
